Specific Framemaker problems Oct 4, 2010

FrameMaker is a troublesome software for Trados 2007, 2006 and older versions since Adobe, its manufacturer, use specific font codings for both PC and MAC machines not much consistent with Windows fonts. It also uses composition files for translation of converted original *.mif/*.fm/*.rtf files. I had troubles with Thai as well. You need to deselect certain tag settings in S-tagger to show Vietnamese correctly, which is easier than Thai since its characters are in Roman. For example, deselect 'Show font as graphic.' I prefer SDLX 2007: it is easier to decode/encode font issues conveniently.
