Dear all,

I'm working with Studio SP3 and Office 2002 on a Win XP machine. I can't get the preview in the Studio preview window to work, neither in source nor target language. Studio displays the error message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." This happens with word and ppt files alike, I even created very simple test files to check.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
Erik

Which Preview? Oct 7, 2010

Hi Erik,

There are three types of Preview;

  • Preview
  • File - View In
  • Print Preview

Which one are you referring to?

Also, do the rest work?

Finally, did you really mean Office 2002? You need Office 2003 as a minimum for this.

Regards

Paul

Thanks, this information is completely new to me. The documentation clearly says that Word 2000-2003 files were supported?

Hi Erik,

Sorry for not being more clear. I was referring to the ability to Preview. For this you need 2003 or 2007 (or 2010 now) installed. This is different to supporting earlier versions of filetypes. For filetypes we support 2000 through to 2010.

Regards

Paul

unclear documentation Oct 7, 2010

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the information. A note in the documentation saying that Word 2002 is supported *with limited functionality* might be a good idea...

Regards,
Erik
