Afternoon all,

I'm contemplating buying a new computer, which would be a Windows 7 64-bit machine. My research suggests that Studio will run fine on this system, but what my system administrator (aka my husband) would like to know is whether there is a 64-bit version of Trados available, or whether there are any plans to release one?

Many thanks
Mary

No 64 bit version of Studio now Oct 16, 2010

And so far no plans for the nearest future for releasing one I would be aware of.
However, Studio works really fine on Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

Check how MT works to be sure Oct 16, 2010

While Studio seems to run fine in 64-bit Vista and Win7, MultiTerm does not. Some colleagues have reported multiple glitches or even inability to run it, mainly attributed to some Java or .Net issues. If you use MT in your work, double-check how it functions in the OS of your choice (in a virtual machine, for example) before you start actually using it.

MultiTerm works also without any problems Oct 16, 2010

My machine has somehow demanding system, as Vista is not that good as Win7 - but no problems whatsoever. Neither with Studio, nor with Trados 2007 or Multiterm 2009.

I run Studio and Multiterm 2009 on Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit without a problem.
Like Jersey, I haven't heard of any talk of a 64 bit version of Studio either.

It is stupid, but you always have to run the "launch Studio.bat" file before it will work - and SP3 did not fix this.

you can download laundstudio.bat here:

Oh, and you probably still also have to make sure that

"User Account Control" is turned off in Vista and Windows 7 for Multiterm to work.....

This should be installed automatically in SP3 but it seems there are some configurations where it doesn't take effect automatically. Please review this post;
