Hello!

Have any of you found a way to improve the readability of XU tags (ContextTM / PerfectMatch) in Tag Editor (Trados 2007)? The text appears in a very light grey on a pink background (possibly in order to prevent editing). However, if these segments DO have to be edited the colour scheme makes it very difficult to do so...

Have any of you found a workaround for this issue?

Many thanks in advance!

Kristina Götz

You'll need a Unicode editor Oct 20, 2010

AFAIK, the only way to change them is to open them with a Unicode editor and to search and replace the color attributes of the XU translation unit.

Since TTX files are Unicode files, any Editor with XML formatting display, or in the worst case Notepad, will do.

XU matches are usually marked as
<Tu Origin="xtranslate" MatchPercent="101"> followed by a
<df Colour="0xXXXXXX"> tag. (XXXXXX) is a six-digit number that specifies the color, which I don't know off-hand.

If you don't like the color, simply delete the gray
<df Colour="0xXXXXXX"> tags or replace them with another color. (You can pick a color code here: http://html-color-codes.info/ )

Of course, once you're done with the translation, you'll have to change the color code back to gray again.
