I'm translating rtf files produced with Frame Maker using TagEditor (Trados 7 Freelance) and I have a segmentation problem.

Suppose I have a sentence like this one:

system TAG requirements

where TAG is a hard (non-breaking) return tag: :hr enclosed in angle brackets (sorry I don't know how to make the tag show in the post)

TagEditor segments it like that:

TAG requirements

In Italian, system= sistema and requirements=requisiti, but I have to revert the order and translate it like that:

TAG di sistema

Now in my TM I have system=requisiti and requirements=di sistema and is really annoying.

I thought I could avoid this by chenghing segmentation rules and thus prevent Trados Workbench from segmenting the sentence, but it didn't work.

Any idea?

Thanks and sorry if I didn't explain myself clearly enough.

AFAIK, this can only be fixed in S-Tagger Oct 27, 2010

Most likely the Line break before <:hr> tag option (Settings tab) was enabled in S-Tagger, when the .rtf files were created. If you have the original .mif files, you could try to regenerate the .rtf files with this Option disabled.
