Hi Everyone,

What does this error message mean and how can I avoid it?

Error thrown by a dependency of object 'QuickTags' defined in 'object XML' : Initialization of object failed : Cannot find matching factory method 'Create on Type [Sdl.FileTypeSupport.Framework.Integration.QuickTag]. while resolving 'constructor argument[11]' to '(inner object)' defined in 'object XML'

Running Studio 2009 SP3 in Parallels 5, all shared items disabled.

Best regards,

Hans Lenting

Hello Support, hello Paul, hallo Daniel,

You are the ones with the best knowledge of your own software code.

Please give me a hint on how to avoid this error.

Thank you!

Refresh the filetypes Dec 17, 2010

Hi Hans,

It might be that your filetypes have become corrupted somehow so try the following and then recreate your Project (I don't know what version of Windows you have in there but hopefully you'll be able to transpose these paths appropriately)?

1. Close Studio

2. Delete all the filetypes (apart from any custom filetypes you made) in this folder. Make sure you also delete FilterFramework2Configuration.xml

C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\SDL Trados Studio\File Types\

3. Copy all the files including FilterFramework2Configuration.xml from here;

C:\Program Files\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio1\File Types\

To here

C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\SDL Trados Studio\File Types\

4. Now start Studio again and see if this helps.

Regards

Paul

"error thrown" message for most TTX files Jan 28, 2011

Hi Paul and other posters,

(system details: Windows Vista Home Premium, SDL Trados Studio 2009 Freelance SP3)

I get the "error thrown" for most TTX files I process using the TTX file workflow described in Studio help (with TradosTag XML for .DOC files checked). I have tried renewing the file types as per Paul's instructions several times, and this hasn't worked. There are no customized QuickTags.

Occasionally the problem doesn't occur if I save the DOC as RTF or DOCX before conversion to TTX. In addition, most TTX files I receive from clients don't generate this error.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
