problem with bulk adding importing HTM in Trados 2009 SP3

I have received a new project. Translation of HTM documents, preserving the folder structure.
When I try to import/add in bulk, it gets stuck and does not import/add. It takes incredibly long time while creating the project for the first time. If I create the project file with one file and add later, it is relatively better.
When I added one by one it looks OK, but still slow. This happens in Windows 7.
I tried in Windows XP SP3, it was relatively faster.
I have imported them in pieces over a considerably long time.
I could not really understand why such a common format would take too much time and give such problem.
I have tried to convert them to TTX and import with Trados 2007. This strangely did not crash too much. (By the way, it is really strange not to have functionalitie of 2007 in 2009)
I practically wasted some good translation hours and frustration.
Is there any easier way of doing this?
Thank you Hakan
