More details required Feb 27, 2004

Good morning, Flore,
We will need more details in order to point you in the right direction.

- Which version of Trados are you using?
- Which version of MultiTerm are you using?
(In each case, please provide the full version number, including the "build" - you can find this under Help - About....)
- Which format is/are the file(s) sent by your client?

Assuming you're using MTiX - creating the termbase (using the database definition file (.xdt) created during conversion)is only the first step - did you import the entries as well?

Best regards, Ralf

Now we're talking... Feb 27, 2004

Hi again,
Who's talking of you being useless? This is exactly the information I was looking for. Well, almost... see below.

- Which version of Trados are you using?
6.5.2.417

- Which version of MultiTerm are you using?
6.2.0.267

Thanks.

- Which format is/are the file(s) sent by your client?

I try to re-word that question: did you get a .txt export file, a MT 5/5.5 database (.mtw plus accompanying files), or a MTiX termbase (.mdb)?

Assuming you're using MTiX - creating the termbase (using the database definition file (.xdt) created during conversion)is only the first step - did you import the entries as well?
I have converted them in .xdt. DId not know what to do after that...

Ok, that would indicate you did run a conversion process from another file format, using MT Convert. This process creates the .xdt file which you need to set up your new termbase. But this is just the format, not the content - the next step is to import the entries:

- Termbase - Import Entries
- Use the default import definition, and click on Process.
- The .xml file you need for the import should have the same name as the .xdt file (except for the file extension, of course), and should be in the same folder.
- Activate "Fast import".

That should do the trick... let me know if it doesn't.

HTH, Ralf
