Do you know how to change "user name" in Studio ?

With user name, I mean the name that appears in the system fields of the translation units of the translation memory (created by / modified by). It appears that the name is so : "computer name/computer's administrator account name"".
In Trados 2007, one could choose the user name and so use a simpler one.

Thanks in advance for the answer - René

It seems Trados Studio doesn't allow changing the user name, but some workarounds have been discussed here.

Thanks Mihai for that useful link.

Anyway, it seems there is no good solution.

- changing the computer name is possible and "harmless"

- changing the computer's user name is possible too, that is, adding a new user, but then you lost lot of settings of the computer

- even in that case, the ID is still computer/user, which is really silly.

Always the same problem with Trados : years of beta-testing on the back of the users, hours and hours lost in solving silly problems (another is the Multiterm problem when switching from Studio to 2007, this took me two hours to find the solution, they do have a patch +:).

Its easy: go to "File > Setup > Users...". Might not be working on some older Studio versions.
