What happens when you try to save this Excel file untranslated? Jan 14, 2011

Unfortunately the error message you get does not ring a bell with a solution here.
Can you confirm that the same Excel file, openend and untranslated does save properly as target?

Do you also have problems with other Excel files? Jan 14, 2011

Or is just that one affected?

A newly-opened blank excel file save as target ok. When I paste into it the content of the file I am translating and try to save as target before pulling in the TM, it gives the same error message

The content of the Excel file seems to be indeed problematic Jan 15, 2011

Can you copy the content of the Excel file into a Word file and translate this instead?
Did you maybe try opening the Excel in TagEditor, storing as TTX and translating the TTX instead? These could be some possible workarounds here.

With a quick search on talisma.sdl.com I also found this: http://talisma.sdl.com/article.aspx?article=1756&p=1

Thank you. In fact I did work around it using Word.

I'm just apprehensive now about Excel files in Trados, but thanks for your help
