Hi all,

I have created a bilingual termbase (Dutch-Croatian) in MT2009 and today I try to use it for the first time for a translation from Croatian into Dutch... Strange enough I don't get any suggestions in the Term recognition vindow.

I suppose a bilingual termbase can be used for translation in both directions, in my case from both Dutch > Croatian and Croatian>Dutch or have I missed something?

Thank you in advance for your appreciated support.

Studio version? Did you use MT 2007 or Workbench in between? Jan 22, 2011

If you are using Multiterm 2007 or Workbench in parllel to Studio you need to repair the Multiterm 2009 installation.

Try using either Side-by-Side tool Jan 22, 2011

or the tool from talisma to repair MT installation.

Do you have MT 2007 installed? Jan 22, 2011

Or MT Extract? Or MT Admin?
If not, then it should work now.

Only Dutch words listed Jan 22, 2011

I opened the same project in Studio.
In the term recognition window I see only Dutch words listed insteda of Croatian wsords (Croatian is the source language of my translation)...
Do you think I have to change some setting...?

Check the database definition Jan 22, 2011

Is Dutch also defined correctly as index?

Your indexes ares Dutch and Croatian Jan 22, 2011

but if in your translation the terminology in source language appears, then I would suppose you switched them...

Solved! Jan 22, 2011

Thank you Jerzy,

Your knowledge is an immense treasure!

I went to the project settings in Trados Studio and looked after the settings of the termbase and made the necessary change of the index status of Croatian from "not specified":

TM2009first.png

into "Croatian"

TMafter.png

And now it works!

Once again, thank you for your time and willingness to share your experience!

Best regards,
Sherefedin
