correcting mistakes in source language

Hello,

Is there a way to correct mistakes in the text in the source language? Of course you can correct them in the original file, but if it's a bigger text, you don't read everything or don't notice mistakes. In that case it would be good to correct such things (or unnecessary tags) immediatly in the left column in Trados, so that it doesn't save wrong in the TM. Is it possible?

Impossible in Trados 2009 Jan 27, 2011

If you are using Trados 2009, it is impossible to correct the source segments. However you can correct your translation memory afterwards.

Changing SDLXLIFF file source text - not in Studio Jan 27, 2011

When you have already begun translating and want to correct the source text, first make a backup copy, just in case.

Then open the SDLXLIFF file in Notepad, perform the necessary changes in the source text and Save the file – do not use „Save as”. If you wish to use more sophisticated functions (for example regular expressions) copy/paste the whole file from Notepad into a new Word file (but do not close Notepad), perform the changes, copy/paste back the file with the changes ...
