Hello, I received the following table from a new client and don't know how to adjust the no matches % in Workbench according to it! Price per word: X Match No Match 75-99% 50-74% 100% Match Match Repetition. I get this from Workbench when I perform the analysis: Analyse Total (2 files): Match Types Segments Words Percent Placeables Context TM 0 0 0 0 Repetitions 227 650 7 7 100% 0 0 0 0 95% -... you cannot change the settings in Workbench, but you simply can add no match + 50-74%, 75-84% + 85-94% + 95-99% and so on. Putting everything from 75% to 99% in one category is a bad idea for you, so I would try to get at least 60% of standard word price for this category. | | | Thanks Jerzy!!! | Jan 30, 2011 |
I will have to do it manually then, the fact is, that I get only 0 0 0, when trying to get percentages from TRADOS. I mean, I only get the total amount of repetitions, but not divided into different percentages. I will try to install TRADOS again!!!. I also understand that the table they have is not quite fair for translators. I have just done the job, but will take your advice into consideration for next offers. What you say would mean an empty TM, while your customer has analysed the file against a TM with segments. | |

I am using an empty TM to analyse the received file. Is my problem related to this???. To be honest, I have been working as a translator for the last 25 years, but CAT tools do not belong to my fields of expertise:). What should I do then to analyse the text with segments??? When you have an empty TM no similar sentences can be found there. Thus you just get repetitions, because those are exactly the same sentences appearing more than once in a document. To get so called fuzzy matches you need a TM with segments. A fuzzy match is simply a sentence similar to the one stored in TM. Let's assume, you have "This is a new sentence." in your TM. Now you have to translate "This is another new sentence." - you will get the similar "This is a ne... See more When you have an empty TM no similar sentences can be found there. I now understand the concept. I will try to solve this as sooon as I come back from the beach. This is our last vacation day and my family is waiting for me to go to the beach!
