Studio 2009 crashes when opening Word document

I started using the trial version of Trados Studio today, but when I try to open a Word document (or any other document) I get a Windows message saying:

'SDL Trados Studio has stopped working'

Problem signature:

You're only running a trial version? Good for you. Run away from Studio now that you still can ...

Haha thanks for the wise words. I'm definitely scared now that I've been reading about all these problems everyone has. Not sure if it's worth the investment.

Okay, here's what I did (in case anyone else has the same issue).

I uninstalled Trados Studio 2009 and then reinstalled it. This didn't work, I still had the same problem.

Then I uninstalled every single Trados programme I could find on my computer (SDLX, Passolo 2007, Passolo 2009, Trados 2007 etc), and reinstalled Trados Studio 2009.

I guess this did the trick, because it works now.

Hopefully it stays that way... See more
