Hi,

I will have to reformat my computer (Windows Vista) and reinstall Trados Studio 2009, but I don't find the information anywhere on how to do this.

On 'www.trados.com' under 'My Licenses' is says Trados Studio 2009, 1 in use, and 0 available, 1 total.

Does anyone have any good advice?

Kind regards,

Annemarie

Befrore reinstalling the OS you need to return the license Feb 27, 2011

When you only reinstall Trados on your computer returning the license is not necessary.
However, if you reformat the PC and install a new OS (or reinstall the OS), all regirstry values are destroyed and the license for Trados will not be there anymore. As the activation utility will detect that you have already an activated license you would not be able to activate Trados again. So please return the license before you reformat the PC.
Go to Programs - SDL ... and start the Licence Manager.
Click "View Activated License", select the proper one and click "Return License". Check in your account, if the license has been received and the reinstall your PC.

Thanks a lot Feb 27, 2011

Dear Jerzy,

I will have to reformat the PC as it does not behave as it should, so I will follow your instructions then. I really appreciate your help.

Kind regards,

Annemarie

I had more licences than I thought Feb 27, 2011

I checked now, and I have five different licenses installed:

Trados Studio Professional
Trados Studio 2009 Freelance
SDL Trados 2007 Machine Translation
SDL Trados 2007 Freelance
SDL Trados 2007 Suite Freelance

Do I install all these again or have I installed something unnecessary?

Kind regards,

Annemarie

Return license from both computers Jun 6, 2012

Hi all,

I am going to have to reformat my desktop pc to upgrade to Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007 or /2010 to be able to use all Trados Studio 2011 features (as I have Windows XP and Office 2003)... I currently have Trados Suite 2007 Freelancer Plus and Studio 2009 installed on both my desktop pc and laptop (laptop doesn't need reformatting). My question is: do I have to return my Trados license key from both my computers or just from my desktop before reformatting it?

Thank you very much!

Kind regards,
Alexandra
