I do believe this is not a new problem and to avoid bothering you I have looked at the knowledge base of [SDL Trados Support] but I could not find my answer!
Anyway, I have a problem with SDL trados as when I am working on a file I can see the same formatting of the source in the target, i.e. bold, italic, underline, font size etc. However, when I convert it back to word or I finalize the file I get a plain text, all in Times Roman 10 with no formatting at all and I have to spend a lot of time to reformat the doc.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Could you please change the viewing options in Studio? Mar 1, 2011

Go to Tools - Options - Editor and select "Show all tags but do not show formatting".
Now open the translated document in Studio and check, if all tags are in place.
Use "Previe" to test, if the formatting is preserved.
TBH I never did see something similar to your poblem.

Thank you Jerzy Mar 2, 2011

Thank you for your reply. I have tried that but still it is not working. If I use “print preview” I can see all the formatting in the target but when I export it to word or use “view in MS Word as target” the formatting are gone.
