Since yesterday I have a strange new error message when starting my laptop (not with the desktop pc).

It reads: Fehler beim Lesen der XML-Struktur. Bitte überprüfen Sie ob die Datei C:/Users/KatjaSchoone/AppData/Roaming/SDL/SDLMultiterm/widgetsettings wohlgeformt ist. Das Stammelement ist nicht vorhanden.

If I follow the path, everything seems in order. I already tried the repair feature for the Widget in the control panel, to no avail.

If I close the message, I get another error message: Es konnte kein Objektverweis für die Objektinstanz gefunden werden.

Anybody familiar with this problem?

TIA

Delete the reported file Apr 12, 2011

Yes, I have had this.
Delete the reported file and everyhing will be fine again.
The search settings of the Widget will be lost, but TBH who cares? You can do the setup for it in seconds.

You just became my personal heroeicon_wink.gif

Do I have to do the setup now?

If so, how does it work for this single file?

Îf you use the Widget, just add termbases Apr 12, 2011

if you don't, you can delete it from Autostart menu in Windows, then it would be inactive from that moment.

Thanks, I already deleted it and it worked.

The truth is, I have no idea wether I use the widget or not, because I have no clue what it is foricon_wink.gif

It came with the last update and I have not noticed any changes to MultiTerm.

more questions... Jun 11, 2011

Hi,

I have the same error message and tried your solution.
However, the path to the faulty xml file is not valid for me, there's no AppData > Roaming > SDL... path at all.

Any idea, can you help?

Thanks in advance,
Regina

The path is hidden by default in Windows Jun 11, 2011

if you paste C:/Users/YOURUSERNAME/AppData/Roaming/SDL/SDLMultiterm/widgetsettings
into the adress bar in Windows Explorer you should be able to go directly there. [Don't forget to replace YOURUSERNAME with actual user name!!]

Hope that helpsicon_smile.gif

Same problem Dec 15, 2011

Hello,

I have the same problem and tried both solutions described here. When I paste C:/Users/anke/AppData/Roaming/SDL/SDLMultiterm/widgetsettings into the adress bar in Windows Explorer I get the following message:
"Die Datei "C:/Users/anke/AppData/Roaming/SDL/SDLMultiterm/widgetsettings" wurde nicht gefunden. Überprüfen Sie die Schreibweise und wiederholen Sie den Vorgang".

Can anybody help? Thanks in advance! Anke
