When no TM is opened, I can assign my user-name. But after opening the TM the field is empty again, and I cannot assign it as long as the TM is opened. Catch 22.
Version 8 built 835. Any advice welcome!

Seems rational Jun 18, 2011

I have experienced this as well, but it strikes me as a sensible programming precaution – it means you cannot change the user ID while using a TM. A little inconvenient at times, I agree, but that feature maintains consistency particularly when you maintain the TM. I vote for it.

Had to export and import into new TM Jun 19, 2011

I solved the problem by first closing all TMs, assigning a user-ID, creating a new TM and importing the export from the original TM. Now the ID is visible.
