Hello,

(Newbie question, I guess...)

There is a translation agency which is asking me to create, with Trados 2007, a .doc document with the source and destination text, and also with all the tags (this is in fact the important part).

I'm trying to find that option but my relationship with this tool is not very good. Can anyone help me? It would be great if I could get it without opening the Synergy environment, since it's not working for one reason I still don't know. Can I do it from the backbench, tageditor or SDLX?

Thanks in advance!

Do they want the uncleaned file? Jul 27, 2011

Usually agencies simply ask to send the uncleaned bilingual files with all tags, so that they can make corrections and save the updated memory. Isn't it so?

Just open the file in TagEditor and save it bilingual.

only allows .idt format Jul 27, 2011

Thank you for your answer Ulrike,

However, when I click on "save bilingual as" from the TagEditor, it only lets me do it in .idt format, not .doc :S

Please clarify Jul 27, 2011

What exactly do they/you mean by "with all the tags"? If they want a bilingual doc file you would normally just translate in Word with Workbench. Maybe they are talking about the segment delimiters Workbench inserts into the document?

Need more info to answer this question Jul 27, 2011

Not clear enough.

Have this project commenced already?

If not.

May the instruction was to make you, just like Tanja Hieber said, work in Workbench + Word, hense generating a bilingual tagged doc deliverable.

Or, have this project finished already?

If you already have a bilingual text, but not in the format required, you can put this bilingual resource into Trados Memory, then Pretranslate the original source doc file.
