Dear colleagues, I am about to work on my TM, and I have just watched the
*Espresso-Webinar: SDL Trados Studio 2009 - Pflege von Translation Memorys*;
but I just don't know to to open the TM maintenance view, where you can search for double entries or specific words. I only manage to open the TM in the ordinary TM view, but this does not help me a lot.

Can someone please advise me how to get to the TM maintenance view?
Looking very much forward to your help
Kristin

P.S.
My version: SDL Trados Studio SP3 - 9.1.2283.6

Ordinary TM view? Aug 16, 2011

Hi Kristin,

This is the TM maintenance View:

You should see this menu on the left hand side of your screen. Alternatively use this one:

Espresso-Webinar Aug 16, 2011

Dear Paul,

Many thanks for your reply.
But may be you could have a look at this Webinar?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYeO1bPoHAQ

Here, the view looks different, there are fields in which I can enter the words
I am looking for; or may be it's like a search mask where I can enter, for instance, also the double entries I am looking for.

In the ordinary view I don't have these fields, and when I am searching for a
specific word, I have to search page by page; and with a TM of about 15,000 entries
this doesn't make sense at all.

Looking very much forward to your reply.

All the best,
Kristin

Not sure I understand the question? Aug 16, 2011

Hi Kristin,

If I understand you correctly you want to be able to search through the TM, and not page by page. So this is the question I'll answer... if it's not the right one then it would be helpful if you can show me a screenshot of what you are looking at and explain why it doesn't help you with your problem?

First I open my TM and I see this:

Maybe you don't see this either in which case it is possible you mistakenly closed the Search Window. If this is the case use View - Reset Window Layout to bring it back.

Once this is there if you do a search in one of the fields, so for example in Source Text, you will find that all the segments, across the entire TM will be displayed and not just the first page.

Let's try this first and see where we get.

Regartds

Paul

Very many thanks, Paul!

This already helped me a lot!!

Now, do you know if there is also a general function to search for duplicates or potential duplicates, or is the only possibility to look for duplicates, if I enter a term in the field source text or target text and then select the search type *search in potential duplicates only* if I want to look for double entries?

Best wishes,
Kristin

Searching for duplicates Aug 16, 2011

Hi Kristin,

Leave the filters blank, then select Search in potential duplicates only from the drop down and then click on Perform Search.

This will provide a page by page view of only potential duplicates based on the source segment. You can work through them using alt+right or the navigation bar in the top menu. This is deliberate to make it easier to see the duplicates and address them in a simple view.

Regards

Paul
