Hi,

A client sent me a .itd file. I opened it using T2009 but the target language is Czech, not Arabic.

I cannot change it. (I cannot select any language to choose). Is this a problem? I mean, if I have

translated everything, then saved it back in .itd, will the Arabic sentences be there or what?

Ali

Change the language in SDLX Sep 2, 2011

Hi Ali,

With Studio you have SDLX too.

On the SDLX dashboard, you have the option Utilities and the Tab Change languages. You must first change the language in SDLX before you open the file in Studio.

Thank you indeed, that did the trick !

Although I can see no TMs in T2009 (the client said there is...) But I think this is
the client's problem !

Hi Ali,

With an *.idt you have a SDLX-TM, not a Studio-TM.

You can use the SDLX-TM's in Studio with an open source application. It works perfect.

http://www.sdl.com/de/language-technology/sdl-openexchange/AppDetails.aspx?appid=28 in German.
I think with: http://www.sdl.com/en/language-technology/sdl-openexchange/AppDetails.aspx?appid=28, the site would be English, but the program is the same.

I only have a .itd file. I have no .mdb files (SDLX TM).

Could the .mdb TM be embedded in the .itd ?

Hi Ali,

MDB and idt are always separate.

And it is very strange from your client to send you an idt-file and to say, the TM is in Studio. It is not possible.

The open application works only with a MDB-TM.
