Hi - would appreciate any help on the following issue:

We have an existing resource of translated material that I now want to import into Trados to add to the translation and term memories. Is this possible?

So far we are faced with the possibility of manually inputting the pretranslated phrases, which would be incredibly time consuming.

I'd appreciate some guidance on being able to import these - I've had a look and can't seem to see the wood for the tree

Hi Gemma,

The above programme should/may be in your Trados package.

This allows you to align previous translation file pairs and import into a TM.

I did just type out instructions but lost my post when I posted it...

Winalign's fairly intuitive so have a go and let us know how you get on.

If you have large numbers of files to align, you might want to consider a more powerful tool than WinAlign.

You can align multiple files very accurately with various Terminotix products, such as Align Factory or Align Factory Light, which give excellent results and produce TMX files that import smoothly into Studio or Workbench.
