Hi,

does anyone know if the server-based "TM anywhere" from Trados 2007 is usable in Studio?
It works with Trados 2007, but I would like to use Studio for this job.
I tried to connect to the server in Studio and had no succes so far...
Thanks a lot for any ideas and have a nice evening!

TM2007 and Studio are not compatible (yet?) Sep 20, 2011

Hi stef,
there is no possibility to use your TM from 2007 in Studio. "Anywhere" is just a component to allow people to work outside the network of the TM server (http protocol). There is no connection between Studio and TM2007 (yet??). You have to migrate your TM first and then work in Studio.

If you really need your translation in TM2007 and would like to work in the Studio environment, I would say:
- prepare your file in Trados2007
- migrate your TM in Studio for the purpose of your translation
- create a project with your new Studio TM and with the ttx files you've just prepared
- translate in Studio and enjoy!
- save and convert back to ttx (export files or generate target translation)
- clean up your ttx in the workbench to save all segments in TM2007

I can imagine that it is technically possible to program a connection between these systems. Maybe SDL already works on it or other OpenExchange developpers... wait and see

Cheers

Sébastien
