Hello,

I am starting to use CAT Tools and do not know anything about Termbases, Translation Memories, etc...

My question is : do i have to start my own TM, TB, glassary etc from 0 or can i find some already existing and import ?

Other question : what is the difference between Translation Memory, Termbase, Glossary, etc... ??

Thanks for your help.

Mostly, yes, you have to make them from scratch unless your client provides any.

For general information, start, say, with Wikipedia.

If you have bilingual glossaries or previous translations... Sep 24, 2011

you can add your glossaries to your termbase and your previous translations to your translation memory.

See these two guides for details, maybe they will help:

To use previous translations to build your TM (translation memory):

To add your Excel glossaries to your termbase:

Good luck!
