Note to moderators: I may not have posted this topic in the correct forum. Please feel free to move it if necessary!

I'm currently trying out Abbyy Finereader 11 professional version, to convert Word documents for use in Trados Studio 2009.

The results are pretty impressive, Abbyy produces a very smart-looking word document, which appears in Trados without creating a huge quantity of tags. However, certain parts of the text seem fine in the Word document but appear "crossed through" in Trados. I cannot see any visible difference between these parts and the rest of the document on the original (same font, same size, same colour, same background etc.).

Would anyone happen to know why this happens or how to solve it?

Many thanks for your help,

This issue is addressed here:
The thread went a bit off-topic, but it should help a bit.
I've seen the crossing out too in Studio 2009 and Abbyy10. The only good thing is that the target file is saved OK, in the correct format.

Thanks, that helps! Sep 30, 2011

Yes, that does help - thanks Emma!
I'll have a play about with it as soon as I have 5 minutes free.
Kind regards,
