Hi,

I have a client in a rush for an analysis report because he needs to know how many 100% matches and repetitions are in the translated file. I have never done this before, and after hours of trying all I get is a xml file that does not show my the information the client needs, so I'd be really grateful if someone could please explain to me how I can create such a file showing Matches and Repetitions.

Thanks,

Rich

Create a project or save the opened file Nov 9, 2011

then run the batch task "Analysis".
Or go to www.sdl.com chose Language Technologies - Open Exchange and download the analysis tool from there.

Hi Jerzy,

Thanks for you reply.

"Create a project or save the opened file then run the batch task "Analysis" is what I obviously did at first, so I still don't understand why this report is in xml format and why it doesn't show the information on Matches and Repetitions. Is there something I need to configure in my settings to have this information show up in the report?

I just had a look at the open exchange and I see to analysis tools: 1) goAnalyze, but

I just had a look at the open exchange and I see to analysis tools: 1) goAnalyze, but that is for Trados 2009, not 2011. 2) SDL Trados Studio – Export Analysis Reports. Is this the one I need?

You should be able to use the tool for S2009 Nov 9, 2011

AFAIK it is a standalone one.
And if you run the analysis why does it not show any matches? Did you try to view the report in the Reports view screen of Studio? This should also allow you to save the report as Excel. BTW, you need to see the navigation pane to chose a report...

I followed your advise and the same process I'd tried before and the report is create as it should be. I don't know why I was having trouble with this as it's so straight-forward. Doing too many things at once I guess.

Thanks Jerzy.

Rich
