Hi,

1.How can I add my name in the comment box?
Presently, my comment box user name is Window 7.
I have already changed name and email address in the setup user under File button, but when I comment on the segment, the Window 7 still appears as the user name.

2. Spell Checker cannot operate
I use MS office 2010.
There is Spellchecker which run and work well in MS office,
but does not work in trados 2011 Spell checker.
I have already selected MS word spell checker in Trados 2011.

What should I do?

Thank you very much

Hi Rain Na Bun,

The username here is taken from your windows username and there is currently no way to change this in Studio. There is a development backlog item to make it possible to use something defined in Studio but I couldn't say when this will become available.

Regards

Paul

Hi,

Do you have the appropriate Asian Language pack installed for Office? Can you test using English to French (or some other language that doesn't require a specific language pack to be installed) and see whether the Microsoft Spellchecker will work with this? I don't know what other languages you have installed but this would rule out the lack of a language pack as being the problem.

Regards

Paul

Thank you Paul.

1.MS Words
I have office language pack 2010.
but I don't know how to install or to attach any file to Trados 2011.

2.Hunspelldictionaries
Trados 2011 has the languages that I normally use in the folder of Hunspelldictionaries in SDL folder in my computer.

en_GB.aff
en_GB which is a text file

en_US.aff
en_US which is a text file

th_TH.aff
th_TH which is a text file

I don't know why it cannot be operate.

I look into the spellcheckmanager_config in the same folder,
there is no th_TH.aff
th_TH which is a text file

Is it the reason the spell checker does not operate?

3.Custom
I thought if I use the custom check instead may be I can activate the spell checker.
So, I visited hunspell website. There was th_TH link to download but could not open the link.
I also used custom function to attach en_US and en_GB dictionary that I had downloaded from hunspell,
but nothing happened.

Thank you very much.

Try adding this for Hunspell Nov 14, 2011

Hi,

Can you try adding this to the spellcheckmanager_config you have already found?

&ltlanguage&gt
&ltisoCode&gtth-TH&lt/isoCode&gt
&ltdict&gtth_TH&lt/dict&gt
&lt/language&gt

I'm not sure why this wasn't in your config already but this may be the cause of your Hunspell problem.

On the Microsoft issue, I'm not sure so please log a case on the Solution Finder as follows so we can investigate this properly.

Go to the Knowledgebase;

http://kb.sdl.com

Then go to the tab called Solution Finder and now go here;

Download and Installation Problems
- The installation went fine, but now I get an error message when opening or using the program.
-- The error occurs in SDL Trados Studio 2011.

This will bring up a form that you can fill in to generate a support request and you will be contacted, normally within a day.

Regards

Paul

Thank you Nov 14, 2011

Thank you Paul.

I can use Hunspelldictionaries now. Thank you for your suggestion.

I followed your link to SDL Support.
The page showed, but question form did not show.
There was a warning
'This webpage is not available. It might be temporarily down or it may have move permanently to a new web address.'

I have another question.
Does a TM file support only a language pair?

I opened the file for translation from Thai into English.
I found that it did not allow me to open the TM that I use for English to Thai project.
There was the message
'The translation provider does not support any language pair in this project or project template.'

Thank you very much.

TM Direction Nov 14, 2011

Hi,

The TM will only support one direction, so if you need to translate in the other direction then you need to maintain an additional TM. There is a useful, and free, OpenExchange application that can be used to reverse the TMs easily:

SDLTmReverseLangs : http://tinyurl.com/SDLTmReverseLangs

Regards

Paul

I used the application to reverse the Eng to Thai TM, to the new target Thai to Eng TM,
there was the message 'Unhandled exception has occurred in your application.....'
and it's also disable my Thai to Eng TM.

I also tried to reverse existing Eng to Thai TM as source file, and used it as a target file from Thai to Eng. The result was not different.

Please suggest how to do it right.
