Hi, can anyone kindly help me with this problem in MultiTerm 2009?

An Excel file was converted and imported to the termbase of MultiTerm 20009. Everything is ok except that the terms can not be manually searched. However, the terms added within MultiTerm 2009 can be searched very well.

What is the solution?

Will any converted terms be foud with fuzzy search? Nov 11, 2011

Did you try normal or fuzzy search?
Do any converted terms appear in MT or in the term recognition in Studio?

fuzzy search doesn'r work either Nov 12, 2011

I tried both normal and fuzzy search, but none of them worked.

Those terms also can not be recognized in Workbench.

However, the search function in MT and term recognition in Workbench did work for terms added within the MT.

Are the characters correct? Nov 12, 2011

Was the encoding in Excel Unicode or did you use a specific font?
Otherwise I cannot tell what's happening.
I must however admit, that I have no clue about Asian languages and their behavior in Studio/MultiTerm.

Commonly used fonts Nov 13, 2011

Thank you for your reply again, Jerzy.

I used Arial for source English terms, and the most commonly font in Chinese language for target Chinese terms.

No space Nov 14, 2011

Hi István, I am sure there is no space in both the source and target text columns. I kept space issue in mind when making the Excel file.
