I have tried everything: Clicked OK and specified its location, clicked Cancel to disable the TM and removed the project from the list as well as deleted the project files on the external harddrive and then created a new project. But this error message keeps popping up each time I choose Projects. Is the only solution to reinstall Studio 2011? ▲ Collapse

The same error message when I click on other projects as well. If I choose to complete any project in the Projects-view, I get this error message and the same TM (even though it's not connected to the TM I chose to complete in the list, or chose to remove from the list).

I removed another project from the list and then this pop-up window disappeared.

I'm happy to see Fredrik managed to solve the problem, but I must admit that after 10 or so years of using CAT tools I find TM management in SDL Trados Studio very confusing, too. Why are there TMs for "All Language Pairs" and then for specific pairs, some sub-TMs that clients can send in project packages, project vs. main TMs? All this stuff remains in the application, and when I start working on a new file, I often end up accidentally using the wrong TM for analysis or - even worse - updating it. After I remove those TMs, I get another package from my client and the new TMs are used by default again, unless I double-check. Why can't it be so simple as in SDLX, where you can add multiple TMs, choose the settings, all in a single, simple dialog box, and work with confidence? ▲ Collapse

For the record, when you have chosen to save the project as a template or created a template from scratch, the template keeps the reference to the TM (if you have defined a TM in it, obviously) although it is not longer physically on the disk, and Studio keeps asking for it each time you create a project based on the template until you modify said template.

Nicolas, that sounds feasible. I'm having the same issues but don't use project templates, so I guess it's the default project template that's the issue. How can I modify that? Thanks

Hi, You can solve the problem by: - Delete the three xml files from C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\10.0.0.0 - Delete project.xml file from C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Studio 2011\Projects.
