Hello,

I often have to work on large projects with a lot of repetitions. I save a lot of time when translating the files because the repetitions are automatically inserted and marked as translated. However, a translation project of 10,000 new words may have 50,000 words in total and I've never been able to work out if there's a way to automatically mark a segment as reviewed in the other files once it's been checked the first time. Is this possible?

So if I have an 800 word document which had 600 words already translated from the original project TM, then 180 words are repetitions from the other files in the project... I only need to translate 20 words to finish the translation. However, I need to proofread all 800 words if I can't remember which parts I've had to translate (when working with a large number of files).

Thanks!

I've just realised this option isn't selected. Should it work if I select it?

Sure it will work Nov 21, 2011

in case you merge the files you are proofreading.

Thanks for your reply Nov 21, 2011

And can I merge the files once they've been translated or would I need to open the source files, merge them and pre-translate them with the TM?

Personally, I would pre-translate from the TM by opening all the source files. You can do this when you create a new project. Then you just fill in the gaps afterwards.

Thanks Nov 21, 2011

Thank you. I've done that... but now any file which had HTML tags in hasn't been copied as a 100% match because the ST formatting has changed.

Files which were previously displayed in the ST like: This is an [B )example( /B] (Arrow tags)

Are now displayed like: This is an [B ]example[ /B] (Square tags)

I don't understand why. I imported the same files both times...

Next time you have one of these jobs with lots of segments you've translated before, try setting the Display filter to "New translated content" when you proof.
