Hi,

I'm having some problems with Trados Studio 2011.

I can't save the translated target file and got this error: "Failed to save target content: An item with the same key has already been added"

I think the error come from the TM.
I have created a new project, updated the TM, re-indexed the TM...

Deadline on Monday...

Thanks for your help,

Best regards,

Raphael

Source format? Dec 10, 2011

What do you do? Save target as or Finalize?
Did you perform tag check?

source document Dec 10, 2011

Well, it seems that my .docx source document is the problem.

I've tried to open it with en new empty TM and when trying to "Save target as", I get the same error.

I have save the .docx as a .doc and didn't get the error, but I then get "Failed to save target content: An error occurred while converting fields back to Microsoft Word format:Possible field(s) deletion.".....

Run the verifier on the doc file Dec 10, 2011

The message is quite clear - a field tag will be missing there most certainly.

Fixed Dec 10, 2011

Thank you Jerzy,

I have converted my .docx to .rtf, then translated it with the TM...
I had quite a lot of tags to fix, some field tags disappeared during the conversion.

Hopefully the final doc didn't need much edition.

Anyway, I really wonder what was wrong with the original .docx

Trados works in mysterious ways, sometimes...

Cheers,

Raphael

Why RTF? Dec 10, 2011

That is in most cases the worst choice.
Using DOC or DOCX is really much better choice, as not so many changes apply.
Sometimes a detour via TagEditor (meaning TTX as intermediate format) may also work wonder.

And really, this is mostly not Trados, but the source document which is bringing you trouble. Provided Word being held for a very easy to use program most user "misuse" it - because it is not really that easy to use if you want to use it properly.

Rtf worked Dec 10, 2011

I agree that Word is difficult to use.
I didn't mean to use Rtf, but I had an other error with .doc and Rtf worked fine...
