I just opened a file in TagEditor, and a TM in Workbench. The strange thing is,
only the Open/Get opens in the sentence, not the Set/Close. What can be the problem?

Language pair in the opened TM? Dec 17, 2011

And Open/Get opens a sentence, Set/Close just closes it. You can't open a sentence with Set/Close.

What you may be looking for is the "Set/Close next Open/Get", which is the symbol just to the right of the "Copy Source" icon. That closes the just translated segment and opens the next one automatically. I use the "Close/Set" one only if I have to close the segment for a reason, like going to a previous one to change something, or to save what you have done so far, which you cannot do if a segment is still open.
