Hi everybody,

How can I clear all translations from a file in SDL Trados Studio 2009? I just can see an option to do so for the current segment but I'd like to clear the whole content of a file before starting translating it.

Many thanks in advance for any useful answer.

Cheers.

Patrick Germain

Clear all target segments or the corresponding shortcut.

Thank you Jerzy.

However there is no such option in Translation menu.
The only available option is Clear target segment, which I referred to in my initial query.

So I'm in search of a way to clear all the translated segments in the file.

Cheers.

Sorry, that came from Studio 2011 Dec 18, 2011

Are the segments confirmed?
If not, you should have Clear draft segments.
If yes, select them all and change the status to draft. Then remove target.
Or, if that does not work, download the SDLXLIFF Converter and convert the sdlxliff to docx table, delete the content of the target

Or, if that does not work, download the SDLXLIFF Converter and convert the sdlxliff to docx table, delete the content of the target column and import back.

select all segments Dec 18, 2011

Hello,

As a complement to Jerzy's reply (I wonder if this is not the step you are missing), in order to select all the segments you need to click on the number of the first segment (very first column on the left) and then scroll down to the last segment, press and hold 'shift' and click on the number of the last segment.

You can then apply the relevant shortcut (clear target) or access the feature via a right-click (with your cursor still in the numbers column).
