Hi all,
i would need help from someone that could provide the full list of all language codes (not just language names) that Trados (2007 to 2011) works with (en-us, es-es, en-uk, et cetera).

would anyone be so kind to help?

thanks in advance!

John

For Studio... Feb 16, 2012

... you can find them here:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/goglobal/bb896001.aspx

So depending on the OS it may vary for some languages.

On SDLX we publish them (and there is an excel list attached) here : http://kb.sdl.com/article.aspx?article=2993&p=1

On Workbench, you can find a list of the ISO 639 and ISO 3166 codes we use in the help (just type language code in the Workbench help and it’s the fourth result) – but we extend this with the O/S again and in general if the language is supported by the O/S then we support it too.

Regards

Paul

kb.sdl.com page is blank Feb 16, 2012

Thanks Paul, for your prompt response.

Unfortunately, the article URL you provided (on kb.sdl.com) is opening a page (http://kb.sdl.com/display/2/index.aspx?c=12&cpc=qb8RGxWgV7DN67jch65JW5N8M4TEJLa6&cid=1&t=&r=0.596498548984528)
where the main area is blank - I only see the different general topics on the left, and a search box.

I searched there for "language codes", but the list of language codes still is, for me, impossible to find.

I wonder if you could point me to another URL where I can get the list. And, getting it on an excel would be great.

thanks again,
John

So it does..! Feb 16, 2012

Hi,

I'm not sure what happenned to that article so I'll need to follow up with the KB Manager tomorrow. But this was for SDLX anyway (a different product developed by SDL), and not Trados 2007 to 2011 as you actually asked for, so hopefully you already have what you needed?

Thanks Feb 16, 2012

Hi Paul,
thanks again for following up.

Interesting to learn that Trados 2007/2011 is using the list posted at the Microsoft site (my guess is that both MSFT and Trados use the ISO standards for language-country pairs).

thanks again
John
