Excel tables in Studio
Thread poster: Eileen Cartoon
This is probably an impossible question, but I'll try anyway.
Is there a way to tell Studio (2009 or 2011) to read table columns vertically instead of horizontally. I have a project of a file with lots of spreadsheets where, instead of setting the text in a single box, the longer ones were placed over several lines. Since, when studio creates the project it works from left to right, line by line, I have found myself getting very, very confused. Here is an example, each line a separate segment (the numbers are mine to indicate which columns they would be located in on the excel sheet.
1. ASSIEMAGGIO SCALPELLO
2. CHIAVI DI MANOVRA
4. COLPITO DA OGGETTO
5. FORMAZIONE PERSONALE
1. E COMPONENTI BATTERIA DI
2. STAFFONI - ELEVATO-
4. URTI - CONTUSIONI
5. PERFORAZIONE ( BHA )
2. RE- CUNEI - TAVOLA
And this is the way it should be read.
ASSIEMAGGIO SCALPELLO E COMPONENTI BATTERIA DI PERFORAZIONE
CHIAVI DI MANOVRA STAFFONI - ELEVATO-RE- CUNEI - TAVOLA ROTARY
COLPITO DA OGGETTO URTI - CONTUSIONI INCIAMPI SCIVOLAMENTI
FORMAZIONE PERSONALE PERFORAZIONE ( BHA )
So is there a way to tell Trados to read each sheet vertically instead of horizontally? I know this may be impossible, but I thought I would ask.
Thanks to all in any case.

Go to File Types / Microsoft Excel .... / Sheets and shapes and set "Cells and shapes on worksheets" to "Top left to bottom right by row"
