Hello all,
I am sorry to repeat any issues already addressed so if anyone can post the link to the forum discussing this thanks.
Otherwise, my problem is simple: do not get any hits from my TM in Studio 2009 after importing a TMX. from 2007.
Studio says that all units were imported successfully. I am translating sections of exact text present in the .TMX TM units (saw this in the "Maintenance" of Workbench).
Am I doing something wrong during import? The update TM units is active. Also note, I created a new TM in Studio 2009 solely for this project.

Thanks for any help as this is an annoying problem and I am certainly just overlooking the obvious. Thanks!

Using a project TM by any chance? Feb 28, 2012

Where do you import the TMX? In the main TM?
Are you sure this main TM is used in your project?

Yes, TM is used Feb 28, 2012

Hi Jerzy.
Yes, import in the main TM used in the project. I saw that the TM is enabled in the Project Settings. I also saw that all units were imported from the TMX. However, in the TM editor, I do not even see these units.
This is odd, as I have upgraded many TMs from 2007 and they have always worked.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

And you are sure you do not use a project TM? Feb 28, 2012

Otherwise I have no explanation.

Worked starting a new project Feb 28, 2012

I started a new project with the SAME TM and the SAME files - Bingo!
All of a sudden the TM kicks in and I have my matches.
This means my import was fine.

So I am thinking that some setting was incorrect in my previous project.
Wonder what.

Check the folder of your previous project Feb 28, 2012

If you find a subfolder called TM , then you have been working with a project TM, which is never updated the way you've done.

Checked previous work Feb 28, 2012

Think that the problem was that indeed there was a TM subfolder.
Tried the import again from scratch and indeed all works well.

I still do't get clients sending out 2007 TMs.
Thanks Jerzy you're always a big help.

Changes to come Feb 28, 2012

Watch this space http://www.sdl.com/en/language-technology/sdl-openexchange/Default.aspx

A plugin allowing to use SDL Trados Workbench 2007 memories (TMW) directly in Studio should arrive soon. The beta is already there and works very well. This way you can spare all the converting and can use such TM directly in Studio, exactly the same way you can do this with SDLTM now.

This is great and maybe should be highlighted for the majority of ProZ users to see. Maybe spur some interest and help out quite a bunch of people.

Thanks many!icon_smile.gif
