Dear colleagues,

This may sound to be a very simple question, but I do not do taht for clients. My current client wants a TMX to be sent along with SDLTM. How do I convert it in Studio 2009?

Need your help.

Thanks.

Excuse me Mar 29, 2012

But have you checked the Studio "Help" and the existing forum threads?

Thanks.

You open the TM so it's visible in the TM Maintenance View and then right click and select Export to TMX.

Hi, Paul Mar 29, 2012

I did exactly as you offered (I even tried to do it before you gave this hint), but when I click on Export it can only choose TMX files, not SDLTM. And I need SDLTM converted to TMX....

Still need your help.

Read and try again what Paul proposes. What you choose in the export window is the target file (so TMX is just what you want), not the source.

SDLXliff2Tmx Mar 29

Another way is to use this free application available in the Appstore:

http://appstore.sdl.com/app/sdlxliff2tmx/125/

It creates a TMX from the SDLXLIFF files. It's really easy to use.

I use it instead of the SDLTmExport because with SDLXliff2Tmx I get a TMX with only the existing segments of the XLIFF files. With SDLTmExport you'll get also the units that the client sent you with the project to translate.
