Hello,
I have just installed SDL Trados 2009 and SDL MultiTerm 2009. At the moment, I am simply exploring every setting, tool and option in the software, just to get used to it and find my way round it.
There is one thing that completely eludes me though: it's about SDL servers. I have had no problem connecting to the Public SDL Automated Translation Server in Trados, but when I explore server connection options in MultiTerm, I am not getting anywhere. I think I need some basic explanations about the concept itself. To make it easier, I've edited a screenshot of the steps I'm following. The questions that I need help with are at the bottom of the graphic.
Many thanks to whoever is willing to spend a bit of time clarifying these points for me.

MultiTerm Server... GroupShare Apr 1, 2012

Hi Helen,

This is only relevant for users who have been given access to an instance of MultiTerm Server. Many companies who make a lot of use of Terminology do this by installing and running a server version of MultiTerm to share terminology by allowing their users remote access to log into their terminology database.

If you click on help and then type this "About Server Connections" you'll find a lot more info.

Regards

Paul
