Hello,

when I open a a Trados segment in my document, it systemacically converts in a bilingual document with the tipical "purple {0> signs" everywhere.

How can I avoid this and How can I get back to the clean version (being the document an unclean document) i.e. I would like to use the unclean document but only see the translated version.

I hope I made myself clear.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

If you can see the bilingual text, then you have "display hidden text" enabled. Try toggling ctrl+( to hide this text. Or go to options>display in word and untick the hidden text box.

Beware. Although you can hide the uncleaned document, that defeats the purpose of Trados. Displaying both source and target is one of the major benefits.
Also if you see only the translated version, there is a risk that you will inadvertently damage the purple signs, and it can be quite tricky to repair this.
