Good morning,

I have been approached by a customer for the translation of their website. However, they sent me a lot of html-files. I have asked to send me the files as word documents, but they say that would be too costly.

Now my question: I haven't been asked before to translate html-files. So, I'd really like to know whether it is at all possible to import them into Trados Studio 2009 and translate them easily. Or, should I better leave that kind of work to specialists for website-translation?

Thank you for your opinions!

Annett

Should be simple Apr 16, 2012

Hallo Annett,

I've just tried my luck creating a new sample project to translate a sample HTML file with the wizard that appears when you click on the New project button on the Home pane of Studio 2009.

There is a simple and straightforward step at some point in the wizard where you select your files and their associated file types, and HTML is one of them.

Therefore, I believe it should be quite simple.

Try it out yourselves.

Best of luck.

Eric

Hi Eric,

I just did that - and it worked! I'm such a coward. I simply assumed that it wouldn't be possible and was afraid to try it......I haven't worked with HTML-files before and thought you need special computer knowledge to do that......

Thanks for trying that out for me!

Annett
