Trados Studio 2009: keeps automatically overwriting my translations

I am very new to Trados and am currently struggling with the following:

a.I have two similar segments that need to be translated:

1. The cat is hungry
2. The dog is hungry

b. I translate the first sentence and press ctrl enter.
c. The second sentence is then automatically populated with the translation of the first sentence (I believe this is called a "fuzzy match") - which is fine because I can adapt the translation (I delete "cat" and type "dog" instead) which I then do.
d. And now the problem kicks in: every time I adapt the second sentence and press ctrl enter, the first translation is also changed to "dog"!

This is happening all through my translation with a lot of similar segments.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Eva
