Hello,
recently I have been experiencing problems with TagEditor. I am not able to open files directly. I am not aware of any changes I might have made, but I am sure I did something, because the program was working perfectly before for a very long time.

So, when I want to open the file, this message appears:

Error when using plug-in file filters:
Filter Definition file not found:Word2007_1_0_0_0.xml
Would you like to try to open this file anyway?

When I hit Ano (Yes) it says:

(80003): TagEditor is unable to open this document because the file type is not recognised.

Now, I am sure that I must have do something I should not have, but I just cannot figure out what.

Would you be able to help me?

Thanks in advance

Marek

Here's a solution that worked for me:

Hello, Cazimi,

thank you for your answer. Unfortunately I do not think that it is going to solve my problem. Neil advices to open ttx file in Notepad and to do this and that. My problem is, I do not even have the ttx file. All I have is for example Word document, that I am supposed translate in Tageditor, but I cannot open it and I just get those messages I have stated before. Or maybe I am just plain stupid. Would reinstal of Trados help? I do not want to go there. Thanks for help.

Have you tried opening the file in word and saving a copy as word 97-2003?

Tageditor May 21, 2012

Well, I did try it now. Butit seem to have no difference. when I open the TagEditor, it just says: "Filter Definition file not found:Word2007_1_0_0_0.xml". Then, when I try to oprn any file, it shows the messages as I stated before. I wonder what it is? I have a feeling it is going to be something minor, something very simple, I just do not know what.

Save your Word document as RTF... May 21, 2012

and try to open again with TagEditor.

This should work.

Dera Carvallo,
thank yoz for your input. I did try it and for a while it seemed like it is going to work. Although the Word (RTF) file I have used was segmented badly in TagEditor I have tried it. Result: I cannot open it at clean up. It is giving the same old message: Filter Definition file not found: Word2007 1_0_0_0.xml

So i just wonder, what is the root cause of all of this. Why, when I want to open file in TagEditor I get this message? There has to be a reason, something I have unintentionally changed. I have never had a problems with Trados, TagEditor.

Hi Marek,

Maybe some of the solutions posted in this thread might help.
