I received a large TMW file from a client.

Studio would not let me use this format of TM in a project.

SDL Trados Studio 2011 converted it to a TMX format, but once that was done, I received the following message from Trados when I wanted to use this TM for a project:
The translation provider does not support any language pair in this project template.

The languages in the TM are EN US and FR CA. My Studio was created for use with EN and FR.

I have tried to open through XBench, but get an error message there as well:
XML Parsing Error 101: "

Import / Export with Workbench TMX (Trados 2007) Jul 1, 2012

Chantal,

if I'm not wrong, tmw files are a legacy format of Trados 2007. I'm not totally sure if this helps, as your file may have other issues, but I would try this:

- Import into an empty TM of Trados 2007 and export as TMX
- You should be able to import now into Studio.

If still you cannot import, it helps sometimes (other issues excluded) to change the header of the TMX to the Trados Studio TMX header. To do that, just export from Studio a TMX which has a single segment "template" in both languages; open the TMX with Editor and copy past the header into your exported TMX from Trados 2007. Try now again to import into Studio.

Greets,
Mike
