Winalign: how to force segment change after html tags (and full stop)?

my sources are two excel files which i want to align via winalign by trados.
to make work easier i'd like to know if there is any possibility to force a segment change (spaltenwechsel) after any html tag AND AFTER FUL STOP (".").
additionally a command to automatically delete any html tag AFTERWARDS would be neat.

I'd also be interested in any sources to learn more about winalign. esp. an explanation of the different symbols used. (you know, the little red and grey triangles etc.)

any comments appreciated,

If your data is in Excel already, copy and paste the columns (if necessary) so that you have a sheet with A = source and B = target. Make any adjustments necessary. Save the file as tabulated text and open that file in Xbench. In Xbench, go to Tools > Export items, select your options and save a TMX file.

Insert line breaks as you see fit. Word has fairly advanced search and replace, so use that if you don't know regex.
For instance, replacing > with >\p might do what you want it to.
