Split segment in Studio 2011 SP2

I use split/merge a lot, and earlier bugs seemed to have been addressed. New editability of source is quite good (problems noted with sticking cursor). Today, however, I went to work on a simple 300 word file, almost every segment of which I wanted to split. Some would split and some would not. Very haphazard. Anyone else noticed semi-broken 'split segment' function in SP2?

Splitting segments Jul 24, 2012

Hi Tobias,

As a result of finding the cause of some of the saving target file errors, all relating to splitting segments we have disabled the ability to split segments under certain circumstances. This mostly applied to splitting segments in the middle of tag pairs, but there are apparently other circumstances where this can cause a problem.

Many apologies for this, but we hope to have this resolved in the first cumulative update for SP2. I don't have a date for this yet but I imagine this will be some time in August.
