Can't open return package in Trados Studio 2011 SP2

Hi!
I have created a package in Trados Studio 2011 (SP1), and sent it for translation to a colleague. Now he sent me the package back with the translated files and I can't open it. I have upgraded to SP2 in the meanwhile, though I'm not sure it's part of the problem.
The error message I get when trying to import is : "Failed to import return package, because it contains a project that does not exist in your setup (Name='{0}', ID='{1})."
Maybe the error I did was that I didn't name my package exactly as the project it refers to when I created it.
Anyone knows how I could fix this and get access to my translated files?
Thanks for your help!!
Marie-Ève

Workaround Aug 21, 2012

It could be any one of a number of issues (including installing SP2) that has caused this issue.

For the sake of speed, I would advise the following:

1) Change the file extension on the return package from "sdlrpx" to "zip", and then double click it.
2) Go into the target language folder, and extract the sdlxliff file(s)
3) Go into the target language folder of your original project, and substitute the new sdlxliff file(s) from the package for the one(s) that are in there.

When you open your project in Studio again, you will see no difference, but when you double click to open the file(s) in the editor, they will be the completed translations.

Another way ... Jul 15, 2014

Hi, folks.

Thanks for the answer, George. Luckily I only spent 30 minutes of my life looking into this before I found this post.

Another way of opening these projects is unzipping the entire project and then overwriting the project file with the original project file.

P.

Solved my problem, one of many Trados presents every 5 minutes. New user and already dislike this software.

You just saved an awful lot of time and money as I don't now see a reason to buy the latest version of Trados
