Hi!
After installing SP2R I get error message. Error log says:

I already tried to repair MS c++ Redistributable 2008 by running 2008SP1vcredist_x86.exe.
Unfortunately it didn't help.

Any idea how to solve it?
Thank you!
Marcel

It looks more like a problem with your .NET installation/assemblies, presumably 2.0.

An excellent small, free .NET verification tool is generously provided by Aaron Stebner:

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx

As a first step it might be good to download the verifier and see whether all your .NET installations are okay (each one takes about a minute to test from the dropdown list). Each one is individual, not cumulative: 1.0, 2.0... 4.5. Probably everything up to 4.0 needs to be working.

Whenever you uninstall a big program it can make a mess of your .NET setup.

If they're all okay, then finding the assembly bind failure would I guess be the next step.

... or just uninstall the darned thing and keep re-installing it till it works icon_smile.gif

septima, thx for your suggestion
Seems that everything is OK.
I have downloaded .NET 4.0 and repaired it. Restarted the computer and started Trados again. Everything is as it was before.
Same error.

I would suggest you raise a case... Sep 21, 2012

... with SDL Support. You are entitled to free installation support which you can access through the solution finder. Go to the Knowledgebase;

http://kb.sdl.com

Then go to the tab called Solution Finder and now go here;

Download & Installation Problems
- The installation went fine, but now I get an error message when opening or using the program.
-- The error occurs in SDL Trados Studio 2011

You can fill out the form and a support engineer will be able to assist you.

Paul

I had to reinstall the software ... Oct 8, 2012

... according to the advice given from SDL support.
I had to uninstall previous version. Unfortunately it was not enough and I had to clean registry too. Part of it using software and part of it manually.
After that I downloaded SP2R (Studio and MTD) and installed it again.
Now it works fine!

I needed SDL Trados customer support to solve this issue. May 22, 2013

Hi,

I had the same issue when I recently installed SP2R. I put in a request for free installation support through the solution finder. Go to the Knowledgebase; http://kb.sdl.com.
Within 3 days a service representative responded. Fortunately that weekend I had no important jobs I missed. He did a remote desktopjob of about an hour and a half and all is working properly again. It seemed to be a mismatch involving Microsoft Windows .NET.

Regards,

Linda
