I work mainly with SDL Trados Freelance 2007, using Multiterm 2009 for my termbases.

I also purchased a licence for SDL Trados Studio 2009 and upgraded this recently to SDL Trados Studio 2011, but up to now have preferred to remain with Freelance 2007 (with which I am very satisfied). However, in order to remain up-to-date with the newest technology, I decided to test Studio 2011 against Freelance 2007 with an already translated project.
During testing the latter, I created a project and added existing Multiterm 2009 termbases to the Studio project.

Now, I cannot open these termbases in Multiterm 2009 any longer. I get the message “This termbase cannot be opened because it has been created with a newer version of Multiterm. Consider updating your installation”
These termbases are very important and represent up to five years work. How can I regain access to these bases? Am I compelled to purchase Multiterm 2011?

Solution to problem Oct 10, 2012

Since posting this problem, I downloaded SP4 for Multiterm 2009 from the SDL and the problem was solved: I could again access, edit and augment my "lost" termbases. Obviously the update increased the flexibility of the old version of Multiterm.
