I´m about to translate an HTML file and I´m quite new to the subject. When I open the file in Studio there are some segments which have been included as part of the text but that actually shouldn´t be translated.

The segments that "leaked" in are:

object data="flash/header_v8.swf"
width="800" height="350" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
param name="quality" value="high"
param name="menu" value="false"

param name="pluginurl" value=""
FAIL (the browser should render some flash content, not this).

How do I do to keep these in the "background" so that I can focus on the text itself?

Thanks in advance!

HTML project settings Oct 11, 2012

Part of your code looks like Javascript, part like plain HTML.
Have a look at the "Elements and attributes" and "Script translation" sections of your Trados project settings. You should be able to customize exactly what parts of the elements and attributes are translatable.

(But "HTML" files may be used in many server-side applications, so that the code may not in fact be standard HTML.)
