Hi All,

Can Trados generated files be opened or converted to compatible Trados 2011 files such as the Unclean and TM files?

Thanks for your help.

... and I'm going to track this problem because I have a related issue.

You can open the Trados 7-generated file in Studio, edit it, track changes, and "Save as target" (this preserves the trados tags, which will have to be cleaned up by Trados 7).

Note: I still have to find out how to make the tracked changes show up in Trados 7. (Trust me to flunk on that point).

My problem is, that along with the Trados 7 file, I was sent a legacy Multiterm file in XML format that Multiterm 2011 says is not compatible for import.

Error message on the log says (for all lines of XML): Invalid document structure.

Unfortunately, I deleted the Multiterm version that came with my Trados 7 when I installed Studio 2011, and the Studio 2011 installation did not provide that version of Multiterm. I'm wondering whether this is causing the problem.

And if there's a workaround.

My client works with Trados 7 and presumably that Multiterm version. The only earlier version I have seems to be Trados 6.5, from way back when it came with disks and dongles...

If you happen to keep your 2007 license for getting it to work I can send it to you by Dropbox or similar. Just contact me via Proz.

Saludos
